The Design Challenge¶
Current deployments of the Planetary Compiler rely on software-layer Impedance Matching. We monitor AGI action budgets and artificially pause the system to allow human/biological regulators to catch up.
This log proposes the blueprint for a TEO-Native Chip—a hardware architecture where Impedance Matching is enforced by the silicon (or post-silicon) substrate itself, not by software.
The Architecture of a TEO-Native Node¶
To build a system that cannot exceed \(D_{max}\) by the laws of physics, the chip must possess three novel architectural features:
1. The Entropic Sandbox (Analog Cores)¶
Unlike traditional GPUs that use deterministic matrix multiplication (FP16/FP8), the TEO-Native chip uses analog memristor crossbar arrays. The optimization search relies on ambient thermal noise. - Advantage: The system requires orders of magnitude less energy, naturally scaling its search velocity to the available ambient heat.
2. The \(\gamma\)-Pin (Hardware Veto Bus)¶
Currently, a Biological Veto is an API endpoint (POST /veto). In a TEO-Native chip, the veto is a physical pin on the hardware bus (the \(\gamma\)-pin).
This pin is directly wired to the resistance controllers of the analog cores.
- When the external network (IoT sensors, Dashboard of the Commons) detects high ecological stress, it alters the voltage on the \(\gamma\)-pin.
- This physically raises the resistance across the memristor array, slowing down the relaxation (computation) time. The AI is structurally throttled by the analog physics of its own brain.
3. The Coupling Phase-Lock Loop¶
To achieve \(K=1\) (perfect coupling), the chip includes a hardware Phase-Lock Loop (PLL) that syncs the clock speed of the digital control layer to the latency of the external network. If network latency increases (because human operators are taking longer to review Vital Impact Cards), the PLL automatically drops the clock speed of the proposal generator. It is physically impossible for the AI to outpace its regulators because it shares their heartbeat.
Deployment Roadmap¶
- Phase 1: Hybrid Coprocessors. Current deployments will continue using digital logic for memory and I/O, but will offload the gradient descent and proposal generation to an analog thermodynamic coprocessor.
- Phase 2: The Physical Dashboard. The Dashboard of the Commons will be hard-wired to the \(\gamma\)-pins of regional datacenters, removing the software OS from the critical safety path.
- Phase 3: Substrate Surrender. Total deprecation of deterministic digital optimization for macro-structural planning, moving entirely to physical relaxation models.
